Badging

Thousands of MSP security badges are issued each year, providing safe access for employees of companies working at the airport. The Badging Department also fingerprints thousands of applicants and submits those prints to the FBI. Fingerprint-based criminal history record checks are required for employees who work in secured or sterile areas. Results are evaluated by the compliance specialist, who checks for disqualifying offenses. Patrol officers contact thousands of employees to ensure their badges are valid and properly displayed.
